I did see the movie after I read the first book. I thought that overall, they did a great job with the movie. Unfortunately, I had seen the previews for the movie and then I read the book. So, in my head, I had already "seen" the characters. My friend who had already read the book said she pictured Peeta much differently. Either way, I <3 Peeta!
ReplyDeleteI did see the movie and there were some really great castings, I LOVED Cinna so much more than I expected to. Gale and Katniss were right on, i'm still not sure how much i liked the casting for Peeta - he just looks too young in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI saw the previews while I read, too, so I imagined everyone as those characters... Except Rue. I almost cried when I saw her in the preview. She was SO young! It really hits home to realize these are all just kids.

I haven't seen the movie or any of the previews yet just so I could create my own characters. I was thrilled though to find out that Woody Harrelson was Haymitch. I thought that was absolutely perfect casting!
ReplyDeleteI actually imagined someone older. I imagined a younger John Hurt. Though, doing the math, 25 years ago, maybe 15 at the time... Only 40. Alcohol abuse also drains the years too. So, I am okay with it. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the move and loved the movie. I pictured the characters differently, but I thought that the casting was pretty good. The part that got me was that they ended it so quickly. I felt like the anger of President Snow was downplayed a little.
